Re: What we all enjoy is the fruits of Union workers [dave8697]

Nobody else working in this country get those level of benefits either. I am not jealous of some guy making $75/hr in the midwest turning a wrench, it's a private business and what they pay their employees is none of my concern. But because of that high level of bennies and lack of long term product planning is now causing gm to fold and they want MY money to bail them out? And yes, honda does have the right strategy for high gas prices, in 1973 and in 2008. The question should be framed "who SOLD more 30 mpg vehicles". I don't know what the contractors drove but I do know caterpillar played a big role in building my house, should I bail them out too if they're in trouble? Come to think of it, they'll probably need a handout as well.

I forgot to ask you: how many miles on this car? First thing to do is make sure the sparkplugs and air filter are OK. If the air filter is dirty and the plugs have the sharp edges of the center electrode worn off you need new ones. Probably not going to solve the problem but still needs to be done. Another thing easy to check is the mass air sensor. Its located on top of the air filter housing, near the front of the car. There are two screws that hold it in and a electrical plug to disconnect. You remove it from the air filter housing, turn it upside down and look into it. There are fine wires located a few inches up inside it you can see. If these are clean its good. If they are dirty you need to clean them. If you break them while cleaning its $$$ for a new mass air sensor. If you Do find it dirty just put it back in and tell me and we'll talk about cleaning it. You dont have a K&N air filter do you? (which would be the likely cause of a dirty MAS.) Finally its possible you have air in the clutch lines. The clutch of the ECHO is hydralically operated and just like brakes, if air gets in there it wont work properly. If the car is old you might take it to a dealer or mechanic you trust and have them bleed the clutch. If old sludgy dark brake fluid comes out of it could be the clutch isnt operating like it should. (ie you push the clutch in and it wont disengage) I bleed my clutch once a year to avoid problems!
Re: TSX vs G35 [gdoctsx1]

I've been told by my Acura dealer that all cars within their lineup will soon be SH-AWD, so within the next year or two, that will include the TSX. I personally love the sound of the exhaust on my G35. I've heard the FX35 and it is a weird sound, but the G35 does not sound quite the same. It's a lower tone with a little more grunt... not that strange buzzing noise like in the FX. I've been liking the BMW 335 from what I've seen online. A co-worker just bought one (coupe) and he parks it right next to my G in the morning. It's completely ugly when it's sitting next to the G, n my own opinion. ;)

I think there is one more, associated with Honda Hyannis of MA, hondacareextendedwarranty.com, which is $25 less then myhondawarranty, and I hear that if you call him, he could drop by another $50 or so.

By the way, gdoctsx1, I like your post, #74. I see your point about being in Canada, the cost of the vehicle and the amount you need to earn in order to cover the tax and such. In the US, we do have it pretty good, when comparing to some others, although I still like to complain. I also have a home, family w/ kids and a mortgage to deal with. I am also at that stage in life where I need to plan for my future (36 yrs old) as well as my kid's. The G came at just the right time in life. I haven't owned a car like this before, or anything near this price range... and may not ever again. I sometimes wonder what I was thinking, but I'm enjoying every second of the time I have with this car. It was a good post and a point well made. ;)
