I am having similar problems with my 2001 Sunfire with about 103,000 miles. I had taken it to firestone b/c the car died and wouldn't turn over at all. They told me it was that the entire fuel system was fried. That costabout $800 to fix. Worked okay for half a day. Started driving it again and the whole car would just turn itself off. How did this turn out for you? Did replacing the TCC Solenoid solve the problem you were having? I have a 2004 Sunfire and I have had very similar problems that you described. My car usually starts on the first try most of the time, but on 3 different occasions in the past month it has not started for me. The time between failed start-ups has shortened. February 16, 2007 the engine light stayed on. They replaced the EGR Modules as it was running on only 3 cylenders. Sunday, March 4th 2007 the engine light came on again. Drove off the highway sufficent to get to a local spot. Called the GM hotline and the car was towed to my home. It only has 27,000 KM's. Your still under warranty. Take it immediately to the dealership. The extended warranty is the power train. There should be a little grean card inside you warranty book. Does the engine light come on at all. Mine did, also tried the block heater. Took it in and found it was only running on 3 cylenders. It GM's responsibility. 13,000 miles. I bought the car with only 3,000 miles. I notice that GM is offering an extended warranty on all if not most repairs. Obviously there must be known issues.
