As most people, I do spend some time on the highway, but as a forester, this truck sees substantial 4-wheel drive time. This ranges from 6-18" of "old- growth" dust on most of our haul roads in August to driving on 12-24" of fresh snow in December. After driving about 7,000 miles, this truck is getting between 12-16 mpg, but I consider that pretty fair after 3/4-ton GMC & Ford 4x4's getting between 10-13 mpg. Truck has plenty of power, but a transmission that shifts down two gears at the slightest nod to want to pass someone on the highway ...trying to get used to this! Annoying factors include windshield wiper proximity to wheel, powertrain hum at 55+, poor A/C controls and poor 4x4 tires.
Favorite Features
Plenty of horsepower, excellent ground clearance, fair turning radius, nice size and proportionality, big interior and nice bed with rail system.
Suggested Improvements
Needs better ergonomics; brakes not protected from dirt & prone to squeal, needs better seals and air filtering for dust. Cruise control is odd and combined with transmission that wants to shift, it only holds speed to + or - 2-3 mph on what I consider normal hills.

Why I own a TITAN
Vehicle
2006 Nissan Titan XE FFV 4dr Crew Cab SB (5.6L 8cyl 5A)
Review
What really impressed me is the rear doors that open all the way to the back to the bed. Nissan seemed to have thought of everything to make this truck a big seller. I believe you have. Chevy and Ford, the quality just isn't there anymore, so I went with NISSAN the quality, the way it rides, the roominess inside, the exterior, this company couldn't have done anything better.
Favorite Features
The backdoors, how the way they open, for full access. the easy access to the controls.

Super size, especially the interior. It's a major step up from the 2003 Frontier I used to drive. I can't imagine a better built truck. Fuel economy is about what you'd expect from a full size truck. The ride is great, power is fantastic. I love it.
Favorite Features
Size, comfort, ride.
Suggested Improvements
Make spray on bedliners standard.

When I went looking for a new truck, I decided I needed a crew cab because of my kids. Well being a die hard GMC person thats where I went 1st. Prices for a 2 wheel drive four door were crazy!!! To make a long story short I tried every full size truck on the market. I was about to purchase a 2006 dodge with a hemi, when a friend suggested nissan. I was not looking for a Japanese vehicle I told him. Well after he convinced me to test drive a TITAN I bought the truck the same day. My deep water blue TITAN is the best truck I have ever owned Nissan got this one right!

Titan is a Winner!
Vehicle
2006 Nissan Titan LE 4dr Crew Cab SB (5.6L 8cyl 5A)
Review
I test drove the Chevy Avalanche and then the Nissan Titan. The Titan was roomier by far. It also had exceptional pricing and the buyer receives a lot of quality options at a very good price. MPG was within .5 of rated for both City and Highway. The only option not offered was a hard tonneau cover and outside cab roof lights.
Favorite Features
Rear seat storage option PLUS hooks under the rear seats to hold plastic shopping bags. No more bag contents rolling all over the floor!
Suggested Improvements
More beef for the wipers and an option to have a quieter exhaust system.

6 month review.

Review
Most people review a vehicle right after they buy it. I decided to wait until 6 month time period. I have 9,000 miles on her. Absolutely love it. Gas is what I expected, high 15 average. This truck has plenty of power to spare, head-turning good looks, and the ride is great. It has to be the most comfortable vehicle for long trips. I regularly pull a 5,500lb boat that you can't even tell is there. I've only had to see the dealer once and that was for a tire rotation and a passenger seat squeak. Other than that this truck has been solid, reliable and everything that I expected when I bought it. Thanks to edmunds I got a great deal on it. Sticker 33,6 bought 27,7 after TMV + rebates
Favorite Features
Power, steering, comfortable ride, interior room (i'm 6'6") captain chairs, smooth tranny, command of the road.
Suggested Improvements
Make the locking rear end work in 2WD instead of just 4WD. True limited slip rear end. Ability to disable ALBS system so I can smoke the tires!!!
