Nissan Quest in Snow?

Re: Nissan Quest in Snow? [mommyjan]

Janet, we have a 2004 Quest (same series as the 2005-2008) and live in Minnesota, so get comparable snow to Chicago. I agree that tires make the huge difference. The new Quest has traction control, but with the stock tires provided the traction control renders the van worthless  on a steep incline such as a driveway when the snow gets deep. We have steep driveway ... Read More...

Anybody have '05ish quest hitch pics

I recently installed a valley hitch on my 2005 quest s. The problem is that the darn thing is too low. I'm tired of scraping the hitch on inclines/declines. I saw a quest at the dealer the other day and it's hitch pops out under the bumper in a cutout of the rear valence. I like it and that should eliminate the dragging but nissan doesn't sell the stock hitch. They say ... Read More...

Nissan Quest Radiator/Coolant System

Re: Coolant Leak [cmik]

$400 is steep but I guess it's difficult to get to under there. This thread may help but it sounds like a different hose than what you are describing: motonation, "Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager problems" #2158, 22 Nov 2005 7:18 pm Steve, visiting host (and '99 Quest owner) Read More...

Smell in 05 Quest

Okay I need help with my 2005 Quest. I have had a horrible smell in my Quest since last August. I have taken it in to Nissan 7 times. Nissan has sprayed antibacterial spray in it, deep cleaned it, installed new carpet and cleaned the rear air conditioning out since they think it might have leaked in the back. Has anyone else had a problem with the rear part of the van stinking? ... Read More...

Nissan Quest and Nissan Motor AC - A partnership made in hell!

I have been a Quest SE owner since Jul, 2004 (paid over $38K for a loaded SE). I have had so many problems with this car, you will not believe (SOUNDING LIKE IT IS FALLING APART: squeeks, rattles, doors shakes, sounds of metal hitting metal, rear seats sounds, steering wheel, wheel alignment and many more). A quick online search made me realize I am not alone with ... Read More...

Nissan Quest Audio System Questions

Offmarket DVD/Mp3 Player

I have a 2005 Nissan Quest 3.5S and want to install Offmarket DVD/Mp3 Player. Are there any good models out there that can fit into the current CD player slot in the console? Or will the DVD player have to be installed somewhere else? I am looking for the LCD screen to be attached to the ceiling. Thanks Read More...

Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager Timing Belt

Re: 1999 Nissan Quest Fan Control blower resistor problem [toomanyfumes]

Yeah, some little hose on the top of the engine rots away. Mine's doing the same thing. :shades: Let me search around and see if I can find a thread with more info and I'll try to edit this within the 30 minute window. [edit] Ok, the rotten hose I keep thinking about is the BPT hose connected to the EGR and that'll flip the CEL on but doesn't cause a coolant smell. These ... Read More...

Nissan Quest Brakes

Re: Nissan Quest 2004+ Brakes [cirruss]

I think most owners of 2004 Quests had brakes replaced before 40k miles. Most had the rotors replaced as well. The Quest has electroic brake distributin (EBD). During hard braking, the computer applies the forces over each brake to avoid the nose dive effect and allows the van to stop shorter. This also means that your rear brakes are working more than in a car without ... Read More...
