Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager Electrical Issues
'02 Nissan Quest 12V Power Outlet
Hi, I have a 2002 Quest SE with around 50K miles which I have owned, mostly trouble-free for about 3 years. Within the past few months I started using a windshield mounted GPS unit. After about 1 month, the GPS unit stopped working. I checked and it was the power outlet, which had a burned out fuse. I replaced the fuse with a new one, and that fixed the problem (or so it ... Re: 04 Nissan Quest or 06 Dodge Caravan [ateixeira]
Agree 100 %. We could take our daughter, son-in-law, and kids ages 10 and 7 with all luggage in our 2002 T&C LX....but we are not as crowded now they are 13 and 10 years old since our 2006 Sienna LE has more than double the cargo space the T&C LX had. The plain, shorter Caravan would not have enough cargo space for a couple with 4 children and the 4 cylinder engine would ... Read More...

Re: '99 Nissan Quest GXE rpm and shifting issues [supernet]
Just curious. Was the problem described above ever resolved. I am having the same problem with my 2002 Nissan Quest. I have had the TPS sensor replaced and yet the problem still exist. However, I only get the harsh shifting went the engine has time to warm up. I thinking I might have a cold sauder on the EMC. Does everyone known where the EMC is located? Thanks Troy Read More...
Re: Nissan Quest Manifolds [morleyrj]
I had the same problem with my '94 Quest back in 2002. It had 145,000K miles on it at the time. My mechanic told me the manifold had warped and the bolts were broken. What's more, he really, really didn't want to fool with it. I wound up going back to the dealer; they took a day and a half for the labor, and it cost just under $1,000. I realized from other postings at Edmunds ... Read More...

Re: Side Airbags safe for kids - Odyssey Sienna? [edgecomb]
I would definitely go for one with side airbags, if not side-curtain airbags. The Honda Odyssey, beginning with the 2002 model year, had standard side airbags but not the curtains. (one major reason I bought the 2002 versus the 2001) The curtain airbags were standard in all Odysseys starting with the redesigned 2005 models. The Sienna I am not so sure but I'm pretty ... Re: EPA Ratings DROP for 2007 Odyssey [thegraduate]
The Odyssey was quicker than the Quest all the way back to the 2002 models, per Car and Driver (2004 Odyssey was fastest in a test of the current versions of Freestar, Quest, DCX, and Sienna, to 60 MPH. No doubt Honda press cars are faster than Nissan press cars. But moot point, Nissan has to get people into the driver's seat and the market proved too conservative for ... Read More...

Buying Soon
Never thought I would say this, but it looks like I will be replacing my much loved 2002 Nissan Altima SE for a minivan in the near future (next six months or so). My Altima has never had one problem outside of routine maintenance, reliability is very important to me (previously before the Altima I owned a VW Jetta VR6 that was in the shop every other month). Here are ... Read More...

Nissan Quest 2002 Horrible In City Mileage
Check your brakes. She may tend to ride the brakes in town, causing both wear on the brakes, but also poor mileage. A lot of stop and go or hilly terrain could also contribute to the problem. It seems to me that if you are getting OK mileage on the road but poor mileage in town that the problem is more likely related to driving style than to a mechanical problem. FWIW, ... Read More...
Nissan Quest 2002 Horrible In City Mileage
My wife has 2002 Nissan Quest with 36,000 miles on it and she is only getting about 10 mpg in the city and highway mileage is right at about 22-23. The dealer has checked fuel air mixtures and everything he says he can and reports no problem of course. This started about a year ago and has been in the shop 3-4 times for the problem. Low mileage only occurs in the city and ... Read More...
