I agree that the $300 processing fee is waaayyy too much. I wanted to get some input about an email deal that I am working out with a dealer in the DC Area (landmark Honda). WOW [kiawah] you scared the living S!%&# out of me ...:) I did change the brake fluid at 90 K miles on April 2006. Honda recommends changing it every 3 years regardless of mileage. So I guess I have 9 months to go! Read More...

Sure, I drove a 2006 G35 Sedan. I got roughly the same gas mileage. It was a stick though so that might be part of getting roughly the same MPG in a car that has almost 300hp. Read More...

"Rental" for the Elantra is what scares me, for you. The Elantra is a good car, but with a different driver every week, it would scare me a little; as rentals take a good deal of abuse. If there are no defects or blemishes (dents, etc) and the tires look good, I'd go for it. Kelley Blue Book puts that car (assuming it is an automatic transmission) at $20,470 for retail, and at $18,170 from a private seller. The 2003 - 2006 Accord V6 transmission doesn't have a filter or a screen. Usual is a filter or a screen and in some cars, magnets. The same years, 4 cyl, have a diagnostic inline screen for tech trouble shooting purposes. Honda's recommended 120,000 mi or 6 years is a stretch given the cost of overhauling an auto 5 speed.
